Kumon Program

The CAS runs a reading and math enhancement program for children who are in need of extra help in achieving their full academic potential. Volunteers are required to assist in supervising the program, to do marking and for the general logistics of the arrival and departure of the many students in this drop-in program. Kumon has proved to be very successful not only in raising the students’ school averages but also in allowing them to gain confidence and self-respect.

What it means to Volunteer

Volunteers are a vital part of the Halton Children's Aid Society. Volunteers supplement and enrich the services provided by staff and can make a significant difference in the life of a child. Volunteering is a way to fulfill personal goals while contributing to the needs of the community.
