Support for foster families
If you decide to become a foster parent you will receive pre-service training, as well as
on-going training and educational opportunities.
Foster families receive daily non-taxable room and board rate for each foster child placed
in their home. Other expenses covered include clothing, medical, dental, school supplies,
recreation and transportation expenses.
A CAS worker is assigned to lend you support and guidance, and you will also have 24
hours access to emergency CAS support. Furthermore, there is mutual support and
networking between foster parents through the Foster Parents Association.
