Children in the care of HCAS

Foster children range in age from infants to age 18 years, and come from a variety of cultural, ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds. They could be a sibling group, and may want to be placed together in a foster home. Some children are in foster care with their parents’ consent, while others are in care under a court order. Some children are in care due to conflict in the family, or because a parent is ill. Others have families that are unable to provide adequate care or the necessities of life. Some children are in foster care due to neglect and/or abuse.

Foster Care Recruitment

Resource workers locate appropriate placements for children coming into care. Staff in this department have specific expertise in finding placements for children in certain age groups and by type of placement.
They also recruit and provide ongoing support and training to alternative care providers.
