Becoming a Foster Family

To meet the diverse needs of the children and young persons that come into our care, it is important that we recruit foster families that are able to meet these needs. We welcome and encourage applications from families from different walks of life, cultural, ethnic racial and religious backgrounds. Foster parents include: members of the gay and lesbian community, young couples with small children, a single parent family, a single person, retired (single or married), childless couples, married/common-law couples, or people with training in child care.

Foster Care Recruitment

Resource workers locate appropriate placements for children coming into care. Staff in this department have specific expertise in finding placements for children in certain age groups and by type of placement.
They also recruit and provide ongoing support and training to alternative care providers.
