Adoption Services
Staff in this department have specific expertise in finding placements for children in certain age groups and by type of placement. They also recruit and provide ongoing support and training to alternative care providers. Adoption workers assess people wishing to adopt a child from CAS agencies. They provide pre and post adoption counselling to children, their parents and adoptive parents and finalize adoptions. They also provide adoption disclosure information to adopted persons over 18 years of age and their birth parents. Our adoption service continues to place children with high support needs in permanent families. These may be infants or children who are in care because of abuse or neglect who are in need of permanent families. |
